Come and study to become a Suzuki pedagogue. The training is international and enables you to work in Finland and abroad at educational institutions that use the Suzuki method.
TEACHER TRAINING
The aim of the training is to master Suzuki pedagogy, methodology and the repertoire to be performed, as well as to gain a deep understanding and implementation of the Suzuki philosophy in both one’s own work and everyday life. The most important demonstration of understanding is to respect and consider other people. Before starting the first level of training, students read Suzuki, Shinichi. Nurtured by Love and become familiar with the first four Suzuki booklets for their own instrument.
The education consists of five levels, leading to a degree, progressing from one level to the next. Completing one level takes 1.5-2 years.
Admission requirements
– Membership of SYY and ESA
– Professional music studies, having completed a C-degree (formerly IIA). It is possible to start the education with a one-year probationary period if the required degree is missing. A B-degree (formerly IIB) is required to complete level 5.

In addition to the in-house trainer, the board consists of two foreign trainers from different countries. The Suzuki qualification is international.

SUZUKI METHOD INTRODUCTORY COURSE IN FALL 2021
The 2-credit course at the University of the Arts Helsinki and the Open University is an excellent opportunity to learn about the Suzuki method with experienced Suzuki pedagogy trainers in Finland.
Welcome to the Suzuki Pedagogy Training Days on 14-15.9.2021 at the Kuninkala Course Center.
The training days serve as a practical introduction and intensive period to the key goals, contents and working methods of Suzuki pedagogy for all music teachers and music students. Even as a pedagogue who already applies the Suzuki method, you can participate in updating teaching practices and participate in joint pedagogical discussions. During the training days, you will get to know the current working methods of the Suzuki method through different instruments (violin, flute and cello). The training days examine teaching practices from the perspective of both individual and group teaching.
The instructors for the days are Salla Ahokanto (violin), Marja-Leena Mäkilä (flute), Anja Maja (cello ), Hannele Lehto (violin) and Maarit Honkanen (piano). The venue is KALLIO-KUNINKALA, Sibelius Academy Music Centre, Ristinummentie 6 Järvenpää . The course participation fee is 30 euros and places have also been reserved for Sibelius Academy students, who can participate free of charge.
